That was the date of the first ever wedding ceremony to take place in the Hall’s 101 year history and what a day it turned out to be!

After many days and weeks of preparation (not to mention 19yrs of togetherness) Ann and Tom Madden finally tied the knot. Family, friends and neighbours joined in with the spirit of things and rallied round to make sure that the wee Hall was looking its very best for this very special occasion.

With blistering heat in the days leading up to the ceremony the heavens finally opened mid-afternoon just as guests were making their way to the marquee area. Yes, that day turned out to be the start of a very, very wet ‘Indian summer’. The accompanying thunder and lightning certainly added to the atmosphere and proved to be a great ice-breaker for everyone!

Live music from Waiting for Pedro and Coldsville; hog roast catering provided by the wonderful Cat and Turtle; free drinks – how could the day turn out to be anything other than a success?!

Guests were invited to consider making a donation to Hall funds as a wedding gift and a total of £1,385 was raised.

Special message from Ann & Tom: We cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was to be married in this very special place and to have so many important family, friends and neighbours there with us. Thank you all so much for your generosity and for making our Wedding Day so memorable. xx
